Training in some areas:
Information and Communication Technology, Construction, Lighting, Engineering, Shipbuilding, Leather and Footwear, Tourism and Hospitality: Agro Food Processing, Nursing Technology. In more than 130 trades in 9 sectors, 5,02,000 youths will be trained at government expense. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) are working as partners in this training program of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Bangladesh. Training is being imparted through various training institutes. The training program has started from July 2014. Will continue till December 2020.
The purpose of training
The main goal of the training is to reduce unemployment in the country by 2020 and make a large part of the country’s youth community functional. As of September 2017, 1,26,37 people have been trained through various institutions. Of these, 51,37 are women workers. 65,613 people have been provided jobs in different sectors.
Who will get it
The main target of the project is the backward youth community. Maybe he is unemployed or a mid-level officer or supervisor, who can become more skilled if trained. Those who have the mentality, physical strength and ability to work but are unemployed will be trained and made efficient. Helping to get a job at the end of training as per the rules of the project. Disadvantaged trainees including poor, small ethnic groups, women and the disabled get special scholarships including allowances. At least 30 percent of the seats are reserved for women.
Sector and subject
Training is being given in 9 sectors. Training in Merchandising, Mid-Level Supervisor, Apparel Merchandising, Oven Machine and Knit Machine Operation, Quality Control and Textile Testing, Fire Safety and Compliance, Weaving Technology and Knitting Technology is being imparted in the readymade garments and textile sector. Topics in the information and communication technology sector are graphics design, web design, web application development and supply chain management. The construction industry includes masonry, plumbing and pipe fittings, rod binding and fabrication. Topics in the light engineering industry are: refrigeration and air conditioning, machine tool operation, lathe operation, automobile mechanic, mobile servicing, electrical installation and maintenance. The subjects of leather and footwear industry are sewing management, cutting operation, supply chain management and logistics. The subjects of shipbuilding industry are welding and CNC machine operation. The topics of agro food processing are: product manufacturing upgrading, production growth strategy and total quality management. The topics of tourism and hospitality are food and beverage production, food and beverage service and housekeeping.
Eligibility of application
Course duration and educational qualifications vary from subject to subject. The duration of the course is minimum one month and maximum six months. Age limit for courses and subjects is 18 to 40 years. Eligibility for admission in Merchandising, Mid-Level Supervisor, Apparel Merchandising Graduate. Once you have passed SSC from 8th, you can get admission in Oven Machine and Knit Machine Operation, Quality Control and Textile Testing, Fire Safety and Compliance, Weaving Technology and Knitting Technology courses. Eligibility for admission in courses on Graphic Design, Web Design, Web Application Development, Supply Chain Management is Graduation from SSC. Allowances and jobs will match
Allowance is given for participating in the training. This requires at least 60 percent attendance in class. Allowance is given at the rate of three thousand rupees per month. The course allowance is Rs 3,000 for one month, Rs 6,000 for two months, Rs 9,000 for three months and Rs 18,000 for six months training. A total of 80 percent of the trainees who have completed the training properly are given the opportunity to work in the training institute. In addition, those who want to do business or do something themselves, are also helped. Training certificates of reputed institutes are given. So not only in the country, but also abroad there are job opportunities. Apart from this, the workers working in the industries are getting higher paying jobs as they are trained to improve their skills.
